Why My Family Tried to Sign Away My Life Without My Consent
I stared at the words.
The manipulation was so familiar it almost made me laugh.
She was still trying to play the victim.
She was still trying to use the children as shields for her own greed.
I forwarded the email to Sarah Vance without replying.
A minute later, my personal phone buzzed.
It was a text message from a local number I didn’t recognize.
I opened it.
It was a photo.
My stomach dropped.
The photo showed the front of my high-rise building, taken from across the street.
Below the image, a message appeared.
“We know where the pilot lives.”
“Tell Hannah to pay up, or we come back for more than just the glass.”
My hands shook slightly as I stared at the screen.
They weren’t just targeting Hannah anymore.
They were targeting me.
I immediately screenshotted the message and forwarded it to Sarah.
Then I called her.
“Sarah, I just sent you a text,” I said when she answered.
“I see it,” she said, her voice dropping all warmth.
“This is a direct physical threat.”
“I am calling the detective assigned to your case right now.”
