At that exact moment, Victoria’s phone also lit up with a stream of incoming messages.

Julian stared at his ringing phone, his hands beginning to shake.

He looked up at Andrew, his expression shifting from panic to a desperate rage.

“You think you’ve won?” Julian whispered, his voice cracking. “You think the board will just let you walk away with an intern who’s carrying your child?”

The room went dead silent.

I froze, my breath catching in my throat.

Victoria’s eyes went wide as she looked at my stomach, then back to Andrew.

“What did you just say?” Victoria gasped.

Julian smiled, a desperate, wicked grin returning to his face.

“Oh, did you think nobody noticed your visits to the clinic, Elila?” Julian said, taking a step toward us. “I have the medical records.”

He pointed a finger at Andrew.

“Let’s see how the shareholders react to their CEO having an affair with an intern while the company’s stock plunges,” Julian sneered.

Andrew didn’t flinch. He stepped next to me, his hand settling firmly on the small of my back.

“Let them react,” Andrew said quietly.
