“I’m not going to let you ruin this family,” Julian growled, shoving past us toward the hallway. “If you won’t step down, I’ll make sure the whole world knows what you’ve done before you can play that recording.”
He rushed toward the stairs, Victoria close behind him.
“Andrew, we have to stop him,” I said, panic rising. “He’s going to the main stage.”
“Let him go,” Andrew said, his eyes calm but sharp. “That’s exactly what I want him to do.”
We followed them down the grand staircase, the crowd below murmuring as Julian pushed his way toward the podium.
The microphone was set up on the stage, the Leprince Corp logo shining behind it.
Julian stepped onto the stage, tapping the microphone to get everyone’s attention.
The feedback whined through the speakers, silencing the room.
“Ladies and gentlemen of the board,” Julian began, his voice echoing across the ballroom.
“We need to get the audio line switched,” Koko whispered, tapping frantically on her tablet as we watched from the back of the room.
