“Mr. Mercer,” Robert said, his tone conversational.

“These logs show a series of remote logins, yes.”

“But they do not show who was typing at the keyboard.”

“The IP address you highlighted belongs to a public library three miles from my client’s home.”

“Anyone with her old username could have accessed the portal from there.”

Daniel smirked. “And how would ‘anyone’ get her private credentials?”

“Perhaps from the password manager on the home computer you both shared until six months ago,” Robert said.

He pulled a document from his own briefcase and slid it across the table to Marcus.

“Furthermore, we have bank records from the receiving end of those transfers.”

“The funds did not go to my client.”

“They went to a holding company registered in Delaware.”

“The sole beneficiary of that holding company is an offshore trust.”

“We are currently waiting on a court order to unmask the trustee, but we have a strong suspicion.”

Marcus grabbed the document, reading it quickly.

His eyes darted to Daniel, then to Patricia.

“Daniel, what is this?” Marcus asked, his voice shaking.
