“This holding company has the same registered address as your personal real estate venture.”

Daniel’s face flushed, a red patch blooming on his neck.

“That is a fabrication,” Daniel said, his voice rising.

“She is trying to deflect.”

“The board needs to authorize a formal investigation and suspend her voting rights immediately.”

“We cannot have a thief holding influence over our decisions.”

“I am not the thief here,” I said, looking Daniel dead in the eye.

“You took that money to pay off the debts on your failed luxury project.”

“And you used Vanessa’s personal accounts to hide the trail.”

At the mention of Vanessa’s name, Patricia stiffened against the wall.

“Don’t you bring that girl into this,” Patricia snapped.

“Quiet, Mother,” Daniel muttered, his composure slipping.

“The board will vote,” Daniel insisted, looking at the two older members.

“We need to protect the asset value before the banks catch wind of this.”

“If we do not act, the company will go under.”

Marcus threw the papers down.

“I am not voting on anything until we get an independent audit,” Marcus said.
