Vance cleared his throat, his arrogant posture slipping.
“I was assured by the board secretary that all approvals were internal and fully cleared,” Vance said, his voice dropping its defensive edge.
“We have the logs, Vance,” Daniel said. “You didn’t just receive the funds. You coordinated the timeline.”
“The wire transfers match the exact dates of your construction debt deadlines,” Daniel added.
Margaret gripped the edge of the table, her fingernails digging into the polished wood.
“This is a family matter, Claire,” Margaret said, her voice trembling. “We can settle this without destroying the foundation’s name.”
“You destroyed it when you helped your son steal from it,” I said.
“The Boston letter invalidates every vote, every transfer, and every sale you’ve authorized since my mother died,” Rachel said. “The land transfer that went through tonight is void.”
“And the financial records are already being prepared for the district attorney,” Rachel added.
Graham looked at Vance, his face twisted in panic. “Vance, tell them. The contracts are binding.”
