“And you are trespassing on my docks.”
Derek laughed, a dry, raspy sound.
He reached into his coat.
Vincent lunged forward before Derek could pull his hand out.
Vincent grabbed Derek’s wrist.
He twisted it behind Derek’s back.
Derek cried out but kicked Vincent’s shin.
Vincent grunted and lost his footing slightly on the wet gravel.
Derek broke free.
He swung his fist, catching Vincent on the side of his mouth.
Blood dripped from Vincent’s lip.
Vincent smiled, a cold, terrifying expression.
“Is that all you have?” Vincent asked.
He wiped the blood with the back of his hand.
Derek lunged again, tackling Vincent to the ground.
They rolled onto the rough gravel.
I scrambled back, trying to stay out of their way.
The wind began to pick up, blowing cold mist from the bay.
I looked around for the other guards.
They were all down, groaning on the ground.
The spotlight from the estate wall swept over the dock again.
It lit up the struggle between the two men.
Derek was trying to gouge Vincent’s eyes.
Vincent blocked his hands and punched Derek in the ribs.
