“Check the routing numbers again, Leo,” Adrian said.
His voice was flat, devoid of any fear.
“I initiated the transfer ten minutes before I walked through that door,” Adrian said.
“The secondary authorization required my thumbprint, which I gave.”
“But the destination wasn’t your shell company in Panama.”
“It went to a federal escrow account held by the United States District Court.”
I leaned forward, my chest pressing against the seatbelt.

Miller did not look back at me, but his shoulders dropped an inch.

On the wire, there was a violent crash, like a chair being thrown against a wall.
