I watched his expression closely.

“I am glad you have finally come to your senses,” she said. “It is what is best for the family.”
“But I want the meeting to be official,” I said. “I want the Cypress Meridian representatives there, along with Alden Vale.”
“Why Alden?” Graham asked.
“He was grandmother’s lawyer,” I said. “He needs to oversee the transfer.”
Graham looked at Celeste, then back at me.
“Fine,” Graham said. “We can do it at the main house tomorrow morning.”
“No,” I said. “Not the main house. Let’s do it at the land registry office in town.”
Graham hesitated, his eyes darting to Arthur.
“Why the registry office?” Graham asked.
“It is where the official deeds are filed,” I said. “I want everything done in one place, quickly.”
“That is reasonable,” Celeste said, patting Graham’s arm. “The sooner this is resolved, the better.”
Graham did not look entirely convinced, but he nodded.
