Why My Family Tried to Sign Away My Life Without My Consent
“Thank God,” I muttered.
“The emails sent to safety compliance were traced,” she continued.
“They originated from an IP address registered to your mother’s home in Fort Lauderdale.”
“And the digital signature on the false custody agreement?” I asked.
“An amateur attempt at forgery,” Sarah said.
“They used an old scan of your signature from an insurance document your mother kept.”
She tapped the folder with a manicured finger.
“Our legal department is satisfied that this was a coordinated attempt at professional extortion.”
“They want you back in the cockpit as soon as we resolve this.”
“Thank you,” I said.
“I just want my life back.”
“We are going to get it back,” she said.
“But we need to be aggressive.”
“Your mother and sister have crossed several legal lines.”
“They didn’t just violate your boundaries, Captain; they committed felonies.”
She opened the folder to show me the draft of a restraining order.
“This is a temporary injunction,” Sarah explained.
“It will keep Linda, Hannah, and Luke at least five hundred feet away from you and your property.”
“What about the extortion?” I asked.
