The Waitress and the Mafia Guardian of the Silent Black Orchid
“I have the footage on my screen right now.”
I looked down at Victor, who was staring up at me with terror in his eyes.
“What does it show, Alina?” I asked.
“It shows the night Elena died,” she said.
“It wasn’t an accident, and she wasn’t alone.”
“Victor was there.”
“He was the one who cut the brake lines on her car in the alley.”
“And your mother saw him do it.”
“That is why he framed her.”
The cellar was dead silent except for the sound of Alina’s voice coming through the small speaker.
Victor’s breathing was shallow and ragged.
Bishop’s dark eyes remained fixed on his throat, waiting for my signal.
“You heard her,” I said to Victor.
“It’s over.”
“The files are already uploading to Lucian’s personal network,” Alina added.
“He will see them in less than two minutes.”
“Thank you, Alina,” I said. “Get out of the office. Go home and lock your doors.”
“Are you safe?” she asked.
“I have Bishop,” I said.
I ended the call and slipped the phone into my pocket.
