I clicked on the *Castellana Archives* folder Matthew had uploaded.
I scrolled past the bank statements and the corporate registries.
At the very bottom of the directory, there was a small, hidden system log.
It showed the access history for the server.
I opened it.
My eyes ran down the list of IP addresses that had logged into the drive over the last forty-eight hours.
Most of them were mine.
Two of them belonged to Matthew’s secure burner phone.
But there was a third IP address.
It had logged in three hours ago, from a location in Madrid.
It had downloaded the entire folder, including the location logs for the safe house near the French border.
I stared at the numbers on the screen.
The Madrid IP address belonged to the main server at Horizonte Capital.
Alvaro’s IT department had already compromised Matthew’s connection before they caught him at the cottage.
They had everything.
They knew where the children were.
“Inés?” Lucía asked, her voice trembling. “What is it?”
Before I could answer, a loud, sharp tone echoed through the quiet apartment.
