“What is that?” Calvin asked, looking over my shoulder.
“Proof,” I said, my heart pounding.

“If your father has Marcus, he has the swing vote on the board,” Calvin warned.
“Not if I can prove Marcus is compromised,” I said.
Suddenly, the overhead fluorescent lights in the office flickered and died.
The hum of the server stack in the next room cut out, plunging the office into near-total darkness.
Only the faint glow of the snow outside the window illuminated our faces.
“The backup generator should have kicked in,” Calvin muttered, reaching for his pocket flashlight.
“Did the storm take out the grid?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
