“I need to analyze it,” I said. “I need my tools. My testing kits.”

“We are not going back to your shop,” Aries said. “The shop is compromised.”

“Then how am I supposed to tell you what this is?” I asked.

“You will use what I provide at the harbor,” Aries said. “We have a chemical lab at the safehouse.”

He leaned closer, the shadow of his profile cutting through the dim light of the dashboard.

“You made this suit, Sienna,” he said. “You know every thread.”

“I did not put the poison in it,” I said, looking him dead in the eye.

“I know,” Aries said. “If you wanted me dead, you would not have run into my home to stop me from wearing it.”

He paused, his eyes scanning my face.

“But someone who works for you, or someone who supplied your materials, did.”

A cold knot formed in my stomach.

My staff was small, consisting of only three people I trusted with my life.

“I need a list,” Aries said, his tone leaving no room for argument. “Every person who touched that fabric from the moment it left the mill in Italy.”
