The Stolen Daughter and the Dark Truth Behind a Billionaire Wedding
“It is a trap, Maren,” Rowan said. “Tessa knows I will come for Clara.”
“I don’t care,” I said, stepping closer to him. “Our daughter is down there.”
Rowan reached out, his hand touching my shoulder for a brief second.
“We do it my way,” Rowan said. “We use the gala as cover.”
“How?” I asked. “You’re the groom. They will be looking for you.”
“Exactly,” Rowan said. “I will walk right through the front door.”
Marcus stood up, pocketing his tablet.
“I can get us the uniforms for the catering staff,” Marcus said. “But you will need something else, Rowan.”
“My tuxedo is already at the estate,” Rowan said. “I will change there.”
“And me?” I asked, looking between the two men.
“You stay with Marcus in the surveillance van,” Rowan said.
“No,” I said, shaking my head. “I am not sitting in a van while my baby is underground.”
Rowan stared at me, his jaw tight.
“It is too dangerous, Maren,” he said. “If Tessa sees you, she will have her guards eliminate you.”
“She already tried to destroy my life,” I said. “I am going in.”
