Chloe swallowed hard. “He has that phone.”
“But you have the recovery key,” I said. “I saw it on the digital cloner.”
She looked down at her lap, her fingers twisting together.
“If I give it to you, will you help me get out of this?” she asked.
“I will help you survive it,” I said. “But we have to stop him first.”
She looked at me for a long moment, searching my face for any sign of mercy.
I didn’t give her any.
“He’s going to call you soon,” I said. “To test the connection.”
