“He didn’t realize we had already flagged his passport with federal authorities,” Arthur said.

I turned the page, looking at the long list of shell companies Graham had created.

He had stolen from his own clients, his employees, and even his mother’s personal trust.

“And Gloria?” I asked.

“She has spent the morning calling every lawyer in the state,” Arthur said, a thin smile touching his lips. “None of them will take her case without a retainer, and her accounts are frozen.”

“Good,” I said. “What about the Highland Park estate?”

“The bank finalized the foreclosure transfer at nine this morning,” Arthur said. “The deed is now registered under the name of your private holding company.”

He handed me a set of brass keys attached to a heavy leather fob.

“The forty-eight hours are up tomorrow at noon,” I said.

“We have the movers and the sheriff’s deputies scheduled for eleven-thirty,” Arthur said.

I picked up the keys and felt their weight in my palm.

“I will be there personally,” I said.
