I kept my face perfectly still, showing no emotion.
“I wish you the best of luck with Mr. Vance,” I said softly.
Vivian sneered, turning on her heel and marching toward the elevators.
Daniel and Claire followed her, their heads bowed.
Once they were gone, Mr. Han turned to me.
“Should I prepare your evening gown, Ms. Arden?” he asked.
“Yes, Mr. Han,” I said, a small, cold smile touching my lips.
“And ensure Mr. Vance’s table is placed directly next to mine.”
Suddenly, the glass doors of the lobby slid open, and a man in a dark suit walked in.
He looked around, his eyes locking onto me before he began to walk over with a look of intense urgency.
The man stopped a few feet away from us, catching his breath.
He adjusted his silver wire glasses and pulled a sealed black envelope from his breast pocket.
“Ms. Arden, Mr. Han,” he said, bowing slightly. “Mr. Vance’s office sent this directly from the capital.”
Mr. Han took the envelope and dismissed the man with a nod.
