“That’s the Richmond account,” Hayes said, looking over my shoulder.
“The one your grandmother used.”
“We need to get to Richmond,” I said.
“Before her lawyer realizes what is missing.”
General Drummond stood up from his desk.
“The rain is turning into a storm,” Drummond said.
“The highway will be flooded near Williamsburg.”
“I have a Humvee in the motor pool,” Hayes said.
“We can make it.”
I looked at the key in the plastic bag.
My phone vibrated once more in my palm.
A new text message appeared on the screen from an unsaved number.

I stared at the screen.
The letters glowed against the dark glass of my phone.
“Who sent it?” Hayes asked, his voice low.
“An unsaved number,” I said.
Drummond leaned over the desk to look at the screen.
“If they are waiting at the bank, then the documents aren’t there anymore,” Drummond said.
