Nathan stared at the paper, his jaw working silently.

“This order mandates your immediate eviction from these premises,” Margaret said.

“You’re bluffing,” Nathan whispered, though his eyes darted to the two security guards waiting near the elevator.

“I don’t bluff, Nathan,” Margaret said. “The guards are here to escort you off the property. You have ten minutes to pack a single bag of personal belongings.”

Arthur Sterling looked down at the documents in his hands, then looked up at Nathan.

“The board will not interfere with a court mandate, Nathan,” Arthur said. “Furthermore, the unauthorized construction is a violation of your proprietary lease. We will be launching an immediate investigation into these alterations.”

Nathan looked at the board members, his eyes wide, searching for an ally.

Both of the men beside Arthur looked away, refusing to meet his gaze.

“This is my wife’s doing,” Nathan said, his voice trembling with a mixture of rage and desperation. “She is unstable. She is trying to ruin my reputation.”

“The court found the evidence of your financial transactions and the unauthorized construction contracts quite stable, Nathan,” Margaret said.
