He stood up and walked to the window, looking out over the dark grounds of the estate.

“The security guards will remain at the gate,” Lorenzo said.

“But the cameras inside the house will be turned off,” he said.

“We will have our privacy back,” Lorenzo added.

“What about Angela Pierce?” I asked.

“She was released from the clinic this evening,” Lorenzo said.

“The drugs they used to frame her have been documented by the independent lab,” he said.

“She is being taken care of,” Lorenzo added.

“She will receive a substantial settlement for what she went through,” he said.

I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

Angela had been an innocent victim in Halloran’s scheme.

“And Mrs. Bellamy?” I asked.

“Her husband is safe,” Lorenzo said.

“The men Halloran used to threaten him have been detained by the police,” he said.

“She will not face charges, but she is retiring to the countryside,” Lorenzo said.

“She was very sorry, Hunter,” he added.

“She told me how much she regretted what she had to do,” Lorenzo said.

“I know,” I said.
