The attorney handed a copy of the report to the bailiff, who passed it to the judge.
Judge Whitaker flipped through the pages, his expression neutral.
“Ms. Lane,” the judge said, looking at me. “You are representing yourself today?”
“I am, Your Honor,” I said, standing up.
My hands were steady as I opened my briefcase.
“Do you have a response to this structural report?” he asked.
“I do, Your Honor, but first I would like to present evidence regarding the property lines and zoning,” I said.
Trevor’s attorney stood up again.
“Objection, Your Honor, the zoning is not the issue of this emergency motion.”
“Overruled,” Judge Whitaker said. “I will hear it.”
I walked to the podium and placed my documents on the wooden surface.
“The plaintiff claims my cabin is a hazard to the state parkland,” I said.
“But according to the official county survey from last month, the parkland boundary does not touch my structure.”
I handed three certified copies of the survey to the bailiff.
