“The Potomac estate, including all real property and the contents therein, is awarded solely to Cassandra Bellamy,” she said. “The petitioner is ordered to vacate the property immediately. He may return only under the supervision of local law enforcement to retrieve his personal clothing.”

Gavin’s face turned a deep, mottled red.

“The court further recognizes the certified Delaware corporate filing dated October 14, 2016,” Judge Beckett said. “This filing establishes that Cassandra Bellamy is the sole owner and founder of the parent entity of Rourke Regional Mobility.”

She looked at me and gave a brief, almost imperceptible nod.

“The temporary receivership is dissolved, and full corporate control is returned to Ms. Bellamy,” she said. “The petitioner has no legal claim to the assets, intellectual property, or management of the company.”

She tapped her pen on the desk.

“This court is adjourned,” she said.

She struck her gavel once.

The sharp crack echoed off the wood paneling.

Judge Beckett stood up and walked out of the courtroom, the door clicking shut behind her.

For a moment, nobody moved.

Then Marcus turned to me and shook my hand.
