“Mr. Rourke,” she said, her voice dropping a register.

Gavin sat up straight. “Yes, Your Honor?”

“These documents indicate that you do not own sixty percent of Rourke Regional Mobility,” she said.

Gavin cleared his throat. “That is a misunderstanding of our corporate structure, Your Honor.”

“It is not a misunderstanding,” Judge Beckett said, looking over her glasses. “According to these certified foundation documents, the voting shares belong to Cassandra Bellamy.”

Gavin’s face flushed a deep, angry red.

“Furthermore,” the judge continued, “this ledger contains records of unauthorized transfers to offshore accounts, signed by you.”

“Those are standard corporate investments,” Gavin said, his voice rising slightly.

“They were not disclosed on your financial affidavits,” Judge Beckett said.

She closed the folder with a sharp snap.

“Mr. Rourke, you have lied to this court,” she said.
