Victoria reached for her designer handbag, trying to slide toward the exit.
The boardroom doors opened before she could reach them.
Detective Miller and two uniformed officers stepped into the room.
“Julian Leprince and Victoria Sterling,” the detective said. “You are under arrest for industrial espionage, grand theft, and attempted murder.”
Victoria began to scream, her hands flailing as the officers guided her arms behind her back.
“This is a mistake!” she shrieked. “Andrew, tell them! You cannot do this to me!”
Andrew did not look at her as the handcuffs clicked into place.
Julian did not fight; he simply stared at the mahogany table as he was led away.
The room fell into a heavy silence as the doors closed behind them.
The elderly board member stood up and cleared his throat.
“Mr. Leprince,” he said, looking at Andrew. “It seems we owe you, and Miss Smith, an apology.”
