Marcus, the chief of security, walked through the broken balcony doors, holding a smoking launcher.

“Are you alright, Mr. Leprince?” Marcus asked, his breathing heavy.

“We are fine,” Andrew said, reaching down to help me to my feet.

His hand was warm and solid against my cold fingers.

“Take them to the holding cells downstairs,” Andrew ordered. “And call the police.”

Marcus nodded and signaled his men to drag the intruders away.

The room smelled of gunpowder and ozone.

I looked down at the hard drive in my hand, my fingers trembling slightly.

“We need to get to the server room,” I said.

“Not yet,” Andrew replied, looking at his watch. “The board meeting starts in exactly four hours.”

“We need Koko,” I said. “She has the decryption keys for the secondary files.”

Andrew pulled out his phone and dialed.

“Koko, it is Andrew. Meet us at the secure facility on Fifth Street. Bring your laptop.”

He hung up and looked at me, his eyes softening.

“Are you holding up okay?” he asked, his hand resting gently on my shoulder.
