“It worked,” Koko whispered, her voice filled with relief. “I’m inside. It smells like old paper and battery acid in here.”

“The server rack is on the left wall,” I said. “Look for the gray metal cabinet with the blue blinking lights.”

“I see it,” she said. “The door is unlocked. I’m plugging the Ethernet cable from my tablet into the blue switch.”

“Search for the folder labeled ‘SYS_LOG_SEC’,” I said. “Look for yesterday’s date, between eight and ten in the evening.”

“I’m searching,” Koko said.

I could hear the rapid clicking of her fingers on the tablet screen.

The wind swept under the awning of the station, chilling my cheeks.

“I found the file,” Koko said. “But the file size is huge. It’s going to take a few minutes to download.”

“Look at the file creation date,” I said. “Does it match the timestamp of the video they showed Andrew?”

“Wait,” Koko said.

The silence stretched between us, tense and heavy.

“Elila,” Koko said, her voice dropping to a low, stunned register. “The video file they used to accuse you is called ‘CAM_4_EXEC_0924’.”
