“In it, Ms. Whitaker details her role in the corporate impersonation of Evelyn Vale Hartwell.”

Sloane let out a small, ragged breath from the gallery.

I turned my head slightly to look at her.

She was looking down at her lap, her shoulders hunched forward.

“She admits to signing three separate bank authorizations using my client’s name,” Lydia said.

“She admits to accessing the Hartwell House safe to retrieve the Vale family trust documents.”

“And she confirms that these actions were taken at the direct instruction of Carter Hartwell and Vivian Hartwell.”

Lydia stepped forward and placed the blue folder on the clerk’s desk.

“Your Honor, we also have the completed forensic audit,” Lydia said.

She lifted a heavy black binder from her table.

It was at least three inches thick, the white tabs along the side color-coded.

“This audit was conducted by Miller & Associates over the last six weeks.”

“It tracks every dollar that moved out of the Vale House corporate accounts since the date of my client’s marriage.”

She opened the binder and turned a page, her fingers precise.
