I remembered the date from our marriage license.

Sienna nodded rapidly, her mascara running further down her cheeks.

“Yes,” she said. “He adds the day of the month to it.”

“Today is the twelfth,” Adrian said, checking his watch. “So the code is one-nine-six-six.”

Sienna wiped her nose with the back of her hand. “Please tell me I won’t go to jail.”

Adrian took out his own phone and dialed a number.

“Send the car to the studio,” he told the person on the other end. “And call the district attorney’s office. Tell them we have a cooperative witness.”

He hung up and looked at Sienna.

“My security team will take you to a safe house,” Adrian said. “You will be protected.”

Sienna let out a long, ragged breath, her shoulders sagging.

“Thank you,” she whispered.

“Where is your chauffeur, Adrian?” I asked, looking around the dark studio.

“I sent Marcus ahead to watch the perimeter of Grant’s office,” Adrian said, his brow furrowing. “He should have called by now.”

He tried calling Marcus, but the call went straight to voicemail.
