Nolan pulled away from him, his eyes still fixed on me.
“Evelyn,” he said, his voice cracking.
“You know how things were.”
“You were so overwhelmed.”
“I was only trying to help you.”

“By forging my signature?” I asked.
“By transferring my family’s money to an account only you had the password to?”
“It was for our future,” he said.

I looked at the video camera recording every word.
“And that’s why you changed the passwords to my personal email?” I asked.
“That’s why you deleted the messages from my father’s office?”
“So I would think he wasn’t writing back to me?”
