The Price of Silence and the Betrayal That Tore My Family Apart
“On Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Josephine Sullivan visited the home to check on her grandson,” the lawyer said.
“She found the infant alone in a crib, severely dehydrated,” he said.
“The mother was nowhere to be found, and the father was working out of town.”
“Where was the mother?” Judge Archer asked.
“We believe she had abandoned the child,” the lawyer said. “She was later found in a locked utility area, claiming she had been trapped.”
“She was locked in,” Leo said, standing up. “My mother locked her in there.”
“Mr. Sullivan, sit down,” the judge said.
Leo remained standing. “I have proof my mother is lying about the timeline.”
The judge frowned. “What proof?”
“My mother claims she arrived at our house on Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock,” Leo said.
“She claims she found Sam alone then.”
“Yes,” Josephine’s lawyer said. “That is correct.”
“But I was home on Tuesday afternoon,” Leo said.
He took a step toward the clerk’s desk.
“I drive a municipal transportation truck for the city,” Leo said. “It has a mandatory GPS tracking system.”
He drew a folded piece of paper from his jacket pocket.
