“But there are conditions,” I added before he could speak.

Damon raised an eyebrow, his expression guarded. “You are not in a position to negotiate, Nora.”

“I am,” I said, my voice quiet but firm. “If you force me back under your roof without my consent, I will make every single day a public nightmare for you and your company. I will not play the happy wife for your board members.”

He stared at me, his jaw tightening as he measured my resolve. “What are your terms?”

“We live in separate quarters,” I said. “I want the entire east wing of the Gold Coast mansion. You stay in the west wing.”

He did not interrupt, so I pressed on.

“We do not share a room, we do not share a bed, and you do not enter my space without my explicit permission,” I said.

“And what about Leo?” he asked, his voice dropping to a low rumble.

“He lives with me in my wing,” I said. “You may see him, and you may get to know him, but his home is with me.”
