The Price of Hidden Assets and the Truth That Reopened My Divorce
“What is this?” Daniel’s lawyer asked, frowning.
“This is not the agreement we negotiated last week.”
“No,” Robert said calmly.
“This is the final agreement.”
Daniel laughed, a harsh, dismissive sound.
“We already agreed on the terms, Hayes,” Daniel said.
“Clara gets a minority stake and a seat on the board, and I retain operational control.”
I leaned forward, placing my hands flat on the polished wood.
“The terms have changed, Daniel,” I said.
Robert slid a single, laminated sheet across the table toward Patricia.
It was a copy of the Swiss bank transfer authorization signed by her.
Patricia’s face turned ash-gray.
Her grip on her handbag tightened until her knuckles went white.
“Where did you get this?” she whispered.
Daniel snatched the paper from her.
His eyes darted across the lines, his breathing growing shallow.
“This is meaningless,” Daniel stammered, though his voice lacked conviction.
“It is evidence of asset hiding, fraud, and perjury,” Robert said.
“We have the full file, including the correspondence with the offshore agents.”
“If you do not sign the new agreement today, we file this with the court and the authorities by noon.”
