The Price of Hidden Assets and the Truth That Reopened My Divorce
“My colleague is waiting for you in the next room to finalize your protection order.”
Vanessa stood up, looking exhausted.
“Is it enough?” she asked.
“It is more than enough,” Robert said.
She walked out of the room, accompanied by the assistant.
Robert turned to me, his eyes bright with a cold energy.
He spread the documents across the large wooden table.
“This changes everything,” he said.
“He didn’t just hide assets.”
“He committed fraud on a massive scale.”
He pointed to a page of the bank statements.
“Look at this transfer.”
“Two hundred thousand dollars, moved from the Mercer joint escrow account.”
“That was the money meant for the children’s trust.”
“He drained it to fund the Costa Rica purchase.”
I felt a cold chill run down my spine.
The money for Lily and Ethan.
He had stolen from his own children.
“Can we get it back?” I asked.
“We will do more than get it back,” Robert said.
“With this evidence, and Vanessa’s cooperation, we have the leverage we need.”
“I am going to file a motion to claim full ownership of the family home.”
