“Dr. Morgan, this is Marcus Vance with Channel 4 News,” a man’s voice said.

“I am calling to get your statement regarding a video our newsroom received about an hour ago.”

I gripped the edge of the kitchen counter.

“What video?” I asked.

“It appears to show an altercation between you and your family members,” Vance said.

“The source claims you used your position at County General to threaten them, and that you physically assaulted your aunt.”

I sat down on the edge of a barstool.

“That is completely false,” I said. “My aunt attacked me.”

“The footage we have tells a different story, Dr. Morgan,” he said.

“We are running the segment on the ten o’clock broadcast tonight. Do you wish to provide a formal comment?”

“No,” I said. “Not without my lawyer present.”

I ended the call before he could ask another question.

My hands were shaking as I opened the text message from the unknown number.

I tapped the link.

A video player loaded on a local news blog site.

The headline read: *County General Chief of Medicine Accused of Family Violence.*
