“She told me Richard’s handwriting is in blue ink,” I said. “He was the one managing the cash. He used safe deposit boxes at three different banks.”

“If Richard Carter is tied to this, the defense’s entire strategy falls apart,” Arthur said. “They were going to argue that Daniel was just a bad businessman who made poor investments. But this proves a deliberate, multi-person conspiracy to commit fraud and hide assets.”

“How soon can we schedule the deposition?” I asked.

“We have them scheduled for next Thursday,” Arthur said. “Daniel and his father think they are coming in to discuss the dissolution of the business assets. They think they have the upper hand.”

“They don’t know Sophia has turned,” I said.

“No,” Arthur said. “And we are going to keep it that way. We will present the ledger during the deposition. We will watch them realize, in real-time, that their entire financial empire is gone.”

“I want to be there,” I said.

“You have every right to be there, Emily,” Arthur said. “It is your lawsuit. You will sit right across from them.”
