Marco instantly reached into his jacket, his hand resting on the grip of his weapon.
“We have company,” Marco whispered.
Luke stepped in front of me, shielding me from the open doorway.
He grabbed the black plastic box, holding it tight against his chest.
The shadows on the wet gravel outside grew longer.
A bright pair of headlights swept across the opening of our unit, blinding us for a split second.
A car had pulled up directly behind Marco’s sedan, blocking the exit.
