“Then we make her see that it’s her only option,” Dominic said.

He tapped a few keys on the laptop.

“Whitmore’s payment is scheduled for tomorrow at nine in the morning.”

“If we can intercept the transfer trail, we can link it directly to my mother’s personal accounts.”

“But we need the medical fraud to prove the motive.”

“We need to show why she was paying him.”

“To cover up the illegal custody theft,” I said.

“Exactly,” Dominic said.

He looked at me, a strange, grim determination in his eyes.

“I will do this, Elena.”

“I will tear it all down.”

“Even if there is nothing left of the family name when I’m finished.”

“Good,” I said.

“Because if you hesitate, even for a second, I will take Lucia and you will never find us.”

Dominic nodded once, accepting the terms.

“We need to contact Dr. Hale tonight,” he said.

He turned to Marco.

“Do you have the secure line?”

“I do,” Marco said, reaching into his pocket.

He pulled out a small, black burner phone.

“She only keeps it on for an hour every night.”
