“I’m glad we agree on that,” I said.

“I am calling to offer a compromise before this goes to a judge,” Martin said.

“Julian is willing to discuss a temporary visitation schedule.”

“No,” I said.

“He had his chance to do this the right way.”

“He chose to follow me across state lines and threaten me in front of our son.”

“Elena, be reasonable,” Martin said.

“A judge is going to look at this, and it won’t be pleasant for anyone.”

“It won’t be pleasant for Julian,” I corrected him.

“I am going to get sole custody, Martin.”

“And Julian will only see Harrison under supervision.”

There was a long pause on the other end of the line.

“If you push this to a hearing, we will have to bring up your financial history,” Martin said quietly.

“We will have to talk about the accounts you moved before you left.”

“I moved my personal savings,” I said.

“And I took nothing that wasn’t legally mine.”

“That is for a court to decide,” Martin said.

“But I think we both know that a public trial will destroy more than just Julian’s reputation.”
