Harrison took a step back, his face losing what little color it had left.
“For what?” he whispered.
His voice sounded thin, like paper tearing.
The agent turned her cold gaze to him.
“Securities fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy,” she said.
“We have a warrant to seize all physical and digital records of Voss Holdings and its subsidiaries.”
Elena took a half-step in front of me, her shoulder pressing against mine.
“I am Elena Ruiz, counsel for Claire Vance,” Elena said.
“My client is cooperative, and we have already submitted the initial documentation regarding the offshore accounts.”
The lead agent nodded once.
“We received the filing, Ms. Ruiz,” she said.
“Our forensic team has been reviewing the data since five this morning.”
She looked back at Patricia.
“The Department of Justice has frozen all domestic and international assets tied to Voss Holdings, Patricia Voss, and Harrison Voss.”
Patricia let out a sharp, breathless laugh.
“You can’t do that,” she said.
“Our assets are secured by prime real estate in three states.”
