“Your mother, Harrison,” I said. “Patricia Voss is the sole owner of Apex Realty Partners.”
“That is a lie,” Patricia said, her voice finally losing its warmth and turning sharp.
“The Delaware corporate registry was subpoenaed two days ago,” Elena said.
She slid the certified state documents across the table, the gold seal visible on the top page.
“Here is the registration,” Elena said. “Signed by Patricia Voss.”
“The money didn’t go to the family business, Harrison,” I said softly.
“It went to pay off her personal debts in Monaco and her properties in Aspen.”
“Is this true?” Harrison asked, turning his head to look at his mother.
His hands were shaking as he gripped the edge of the table, his knuckles turning white.
“Harrison, do not be naive,” Patricia said, her eyes flashing with sudden anger.
“I did what was necessary to keep our family name respected in this city,” she added.
“By stealing from my wife?” Harrison yelled, slamming his hand down on the table.
