“I am calling from Banque de Savoie in Geneva,” the man said, his English precise and accented.

“We have flagged an urgent transfer request on the estate account ending in four-nine-two.”

“Who authorized it?” I asked, my voice steady despite the hammering in my chest.

“The request was submitted by Graham Caldwell, using a power of attorney document dated three years ago,” the representative said.

“But that power of attorney was revoked when we filed for separation,” I said.

“Indeed,” the representative replied.

“However, we also received a secondary authorization signature from a Marjorie Caldwell.”

“Is the money gone?” I asked.

“No, ma’am,” the man said.

“The transaction is on hold pending your verification, as we received a notification from your legal counsel, Mr. Julian Voss, regarding a freeze on all joint assets.”

I looked up from the screen, my eyes locking onto Graham.

“He tried to drain it,” I said to Detective Miller, my voice echoing in the quiet of the chapel.

“He tried to wire the remaining trust funds to Switzerland tonight.”

Graham’s eyes darted from me to the detective, his mouth opening and closing like a landed fish.
