“Salvatore’s men are combing the city.”
“They will find this place eventually.”
Adrian let me go and walked over to the desk, his expression hardening.
“My grandfather wants me to sign the merger papers tonight,” Adrian said.
“He thinks he can use my name to legitimize the Hart family’s offshore bank accounts.”
“If I sign, the Vale empire absorbs the Hart assets, and we become untouchable.”
“We are not letting him win,” I said, stepping closer to the desk.
“We aren’t,” Adrian agreed, pointing to the glowing monitor.
The screen was filled with columns of encrypted text and red warning indicators.
“Isabella and I have been tracing the financial transfers between the Vales and the Harts,” Adrian explained.
“Every illegal transaction, every bribed politician, and every shell company.”
“It is all stored in a central ledger on Salvatore’s private server.”
Isabella clicked her mouse, and a new window opened on the screen.
“Salvatore uses a complex dual-key encryption,” Isabella said.
“One key is kept on his terminal at the estate.”
“The second key was on Camille’s phone.”
