He lingered there for a second, his large hands hovering near their shoulders.

Isabella walked over to a metal work table in the center of the floor and leaned against it.

“We don’t have much time,” she said.

Adrian stood up, rubbing his dusty palms on his jeans. “How did they find the first house so fast?”

“Salvatore has resources I didn’t think he could still access,” Isabella said.

She looked at Adrian, then at me, her expression grim under the shadows of her coat.

“But it isn’t just Salvatore anymore.”

I felt a cold chill run down my spine. “What do you mean?”

“Richard Hart,” Isabella said, her voice hard.

“Camille’s father has thrown his entire weight behind your grandfather.”

Adrian stiffened beside me, his jaw tightening so hard I could see the muscle twitch.

“Richard would never work with Salvatore,” Adrian said. “He despises him.”

“He despises losing more,” Isabella countered.

“Camille is humiliated, Adrian. Her family’s reputation in the city is crumbling because you walked away from the wedding.”

She crossed her arms, her eyes scanning the dark, high ceiling of the warehouse.
