Harrison tried to block me, but I did not step back.
“The police have already received the certified copies of these bank transactions,” I said.
“They show exactly where the ten million dollars went.”
“It went to an account registered to Harrison Ashford in the Cayman Islands.”
Harrison leaned in close, his microphone turned off.
“You are ruining everything,” he whispered, his eyes dark with rage.
“I will make sure you have nothing left.”
“You have already taken everything you could,” I said back to him.
I turned to Sloane, who was shrinking back into the shadow of the stage curtain.
The Celestia gown she wore was a masterpiece, but she did not know its secret.
“Sloane,” I said, my voice carrying through the room.
“You are wearing my mother’s dress.”
“Harrison gave it to me,” Sloane stammered, her face flushed.
“It belongs to the Ashford collection now.”
“There is no Ashford collection,” I said.
“And that dress has a secret that my mother left for me.”
I looked toward the side of the stage where Matteo was standing.
Matteo nodded to me, his hands clasped in front of him.
