The Inheritance of Aster Hall and the Fall of the Ashford Empire
“Harrison locked me in the lower vault,” I said, keeping my voice low. “But I found my mother’s key.”
Grace handed me a small, heavy black USB drive.
“This contains everything we need,” she said. “The bank records, the fake medical reports, and the wire transfers to Sloane’s private account.”
“Where is Harrison now?” I asked.
“He is on the main stage,” Grace said, gesturing toward the double doors. “He just took the microphone. Beatrice is sitting in the front row.”
I looked down at the black plastic drive in my hand.
“The AV booth is on the mezzanine level,” I said. “Matteo told me the system controls the entire ballroom projection.”
“The technician is down here getting drinks for the VIP table,” Grace said. “You have about five minutes before he goes back up.”
“Keep Beatrice occupied if she looks toward the balcony,” I said.
“I will,” Grace promised. “Make them pay, Vivian.”
I turned and walked quickly toward the service stairs leading to the mezzanine.
The noise from the ballroom was deafening now, a wall of chatter and laughter.
