“I understand,” I said.
“Bring the document to the north parlor in fifteen minutes.”
“I’ll be there,” Grace said, and hung up.
I lowered the phone and looked at Sloane.
“My attorney is drafting the agreement,” I said.
“But you don’t get the signature until the password works.”
Sloane nodded, a look of immense relief washing over her face. “Fair enough.”
“Where is Harrison now?” Matteo asked, looking toward the door.
“He’s in the library with Dr. Marren,” Sloane said.
My skin went cold at the mention of the physician’s name.
“Dr. Marren is here?” I asked.
“Yes,” Sloane said. “They were discussing some medical reports.”
“Harrison had a file with your name on it, Vivian.”
“I heard him tell his mother that they would have the final signature they needed tonight.”
I looked down at the forged transfer document.
