Arthur picked up one of the folders and began to flip through the pages.
His face grew grimmer with every second.
“Victoria,” Arthur said, looking up. “Is this your signature?”
“Of course it’s my signature,” Victoria said, her voice sharp. “I sign hundreds of documents a week. This was a legitimate business transaction that Alexander is misrepresenting.”
“To pay off a fertility doctor?” Arthur asked, his voice dripping with skepticism.
“The doctor was a consultant for our healthcare division,” Victoria said quickly.
“Dr. Vance is an obstetrician-gynecologist,” Alexander said. “He has never worked in corporate healthcare. And his private practice went out of business six months after this transfer was completed.”
Alexander stepped closer to the table.
