“It proves corporate misconduct, embezzlement, and systemic fraud,” Margaret said. “Under Article Four of the Sterling Global bylaws, any board member who uses corporate funds for felony activities can be immediately suspended.”

“And their shares?” I asked.

“The board has the right of first refusal to buy them back at book value,” Alexander said. “It would strip her of her voting majority instantly.”

“But we have to present this to the board before she can stop us,” Margaret warned. “She is already calling an emergency meeting for tomorrow morning to have you removed as CEO, Alexander.”

“She’s trying to pre-empt me,” Alexander said.

“Yes,” Margaret said. “She knows you are looking for this. If she ousts you first, you won’t have the authority to call a board meeting or access the corporate records.”

“Then we have to get this evidence to the board members tonight,” I said.

“No,” Alexander said, shaking his head. “If we send it tonight, she’ll get wind of it and flee the country or tied us up in injunctions. We present it in person. At the meeting.”

He looked at me, his eyes fierce.
