He closed the door behind us and locked the deadbolt.
“Who leaked the DNA results, Margaret?”
Margaret closed her laptop halfway.
“It came from an anonymous server in New Jersey,” she said.
“But the files were incredibly detailed.”
“They had the original hospital records from when the boys were born.”
“And they had the encrypted emails from your mother’s personal account.”
Alexander walked over to the kitchen table and put his hand on Lucas’s shoulder.
Lucas looked up, holding a half-built red spaceship.
“Dad?” he asked.
“Are we going to the park today?”
Alexander smiled, but it looked painful.
“Maybe not today, buddy,” he said.
“We have some things we need to work out first.”
Noah looked at me, his dark eyes too old for his face.
“Is the bad lady outside?” he asked.
